Oswego NY Newborn Photographer | Billi B Productions | Must Have Newborn Products For New Parents

While shooting a newborn session there are a few products I must have to help my sessions go smoothly.

Many new parents end up loving these products so much, they pick them  up, to have at home for soothing baby as well.

The first item is a Munchkin Shhh Portable Baby Sleep Soother Sound Machine And Night Light. It features three sounds. Shushing, heartbeat as well as white noise. The nightlight glows solid or pulses to any of the three selected sounds. The unit is small and portable and is battery operated. So convenient to use at home or one the go. 

Next is the Munchkin Lullabied Vibe Vibrating Mattress Pad. This compact, portable, battery operated, vibrating pad creates soothing, gentle vibrations that help baby fall and stay asleep if they are unsettled. I frequently use this against a wrapped baby in between poses and during transitions in props. It is small enough to use in a crib, bassinet or car seat. The Lulla Vibe is shown in the behind the scenes studio image below, being used during a session.

I also use Philips Avent Soothie Pacifiers. These are so helpful during sessions to sooth an unsettled baby, when disrupting baby’s sleep by moving them from pose to pose. Even babies who normally would not use pacifiers benefit greatly from having one briefly during their session as this can serve as a wonderful tool to reduce their session time greatly. Of course this is always discussed with parents beforehand and pacifiers are only used when parents are in agreement.
